Wonderful! selket56 May 21 2006, 18:52:29 UTC
Oh, they are so adorable, especially Hephaistion with that bright, intuitive look on his face and those blue, blue eyes. I can see why Alexander was so taken with him! And Alexander is so sweet and looks so relaxed. I like that you also got Alexander's cowlick right! These are just wonderful, wonderful drawings. Where did you get the inspiration for Hephaistion? You've made him very original and interesting, unlike any Hephastion I've seen before. I really like hiim. I could hug them both, right now! I also agree with angstman, the pencil sketch is really wonderful, and has a whole dimension to it that's so innocent. Thank's, so much for sharing.

(dreamily) Yes, Hephaestion's blue, blue eyes ... erm, sorry back to this! ^_^
Wow, the picture manages to communicate something of their mood to somebody?! (To me, the experience of reading something or viewing a picture is always a collaboration between the writer/artist and the reader/viewer - so I can't claim all the credit that you can see Alexander's relaxation or Hephaestion's intuition in it.) Hephaestion's intuition, especially regarding Alexander, is something I've always thought was such a wonderful part of him. I'm so glad you sensed a little bit of it from the picture!

As I replied to Coraldawn, it struck me that both of you said something about not seeing anything like this before ... I hope they're still recognizably, definitely them, if you know what I mean. The inspiration for Hephaestion ... I don't know; now that I think about it the eye and hair color are similar to the movie's ... but I guess it's a mix of all those comments about how handsome he is that I've read in fiction, like "Lord of Two Lands." Plus ( ... )

That is so cute!
I wish I could draw anything near those cute Alex and Hefe.
I don't work with photoshop, but I think that all art in this pic is your own doing. You draw so well! *worships you*
I hope you make more and share with us. They are wonderful.
:D

I was gazing, worshipping at your drawings once more and was wondering could you possibily, when you have time do another with them both being a little older, but still keeping the same look for Hephaistion? I can't really say why, but your "Hephaistion" just really touches something deeply in me. He's so beautiful, it makes me want to cry. Sorry, I'm just completely absurd, forgive me!

You've just inflated my ego wayyyyy past healthy levels. *beams* It's not absurd!!! I'm so glad you really like this version of Hephaestion; because I like him so much myself, I'm always very happy if I manage to portray him well. ^_^

I welcome criticism too - so with words like these, what could you possibly have to be sorry for!
For me, it's a wonder so ... marvelous (redundant, I know) that you can connect with the picture in such a way ... It's a contradiction to what I first said in this post, but your reaction really humbles me. Thank you so very much for such a lovely response.
(Now the pressure's really on when I draw them again, I guess! I'll try very hard not to disappoint.)

Yes, nature is nice, and much easier for me to draw than people! ^_^ Speaking of which, I really really admire your sketches! Those are real art, fluid, natural, and realistic!

Glad you like my art. ^^ But I still wish some day I'll better with other tools than pencil and ink. T^T
