Fanart: Alexander and Companions

Feb 18, 2007 03:45

Summary: Alexander and a number of his Companions; heavily manga-influenced.
Rating: Suitable for all ages. Again, very, very fluffy...
Tools: Pencils, pens, Photoshop.
Source: This idea came up while I was working on the comic. (Couldn't leave Hephaestion under that pile of cold symptoms, with Alexander so ready to charge off all by himself!) Also ( Read more... )

Absolutely priceless! And what a lot of effort you have put into this! And you have made Alex's hair "fair" in the ancient sense - reddish - squeals!.......

I agree with others - the A/H one is SUPERB! That is exactly what they were - blithely steam-rolling their way across the lands and conquering all and sundry. I love A's breastplate and the bundle of scrolls underneath H's arms.

As for the Companions, I can clearly make out Cleitus, Craterus, Nearchus, Eumenes (is he the one almost buried under scrolls?), Ptolemy. Not sure about the others. Who is the one with the sun hat?

Happy Chinese New Year, Joyeee!

You are right about Eumenes (another clue is him looking toward the tents - I hope the burning is conveyed ok?). The others: Harpalus, Philotas (with Craterus glaring at him), Leonnatus (happy with his muscles and his wagon of sand), Seleucus, Peucestas, Perdiccas - though I think Perdiccas, unfortunately, can only be guessed by process of elimination.

I'm so glad you like Alexander's hair! (There's a particular sun-gilt appearance I wanted to give it which I didn't get 100% here - but, that's room for improvement next time!) Thanks so much for mentioning the breast plate :D and the scrolls. And again, I'm absolutely delighted that you can see something in it beyond only the visual - I mean how they were steam-rolling across the world, and blithely, yes! That was pretty much what I had in mind for this, esp. for A&H.

Gong xi fa cai (Congratulations, and best wishes for your prosperity) in the New Year!

Wonderful drawings. I'll try to recognize each one all by myself: it's like a game. Alexander and Hephaistion are incredibly cute together - as always. Thanks a lot. Michela.
