Since I last updated. Lets all sigh at the missed opportunities for randomness and crap that my journal is ;) or maybe just because it's sad I counted how long it's been. It's hard to see how Giuliani would ever get the Republican nomination, because he's both pro-choice and pro-gun control, not to mention an avid supporter of gay rights.

Now, certainly those positions don't put him at odds with the majority of people in the U.S. - but primary voters are hardcore party partisans, and usually skew well to the right (Repub) or left (Dem) of your average voter. During the past week, the religious right has been taking a lot of credit for President Bush's win this year.

Of course, it's possible that their influence could be weakened by the the time January 2008 rolls around. But if not, Giuliani would not seem to be their choice. Unless he moves to the right over the next four years, which is also possible.

Rudy Giuliani, although an amazing mayor to the city of NYC in reconstructing midtown and making it safer and helping the city heal post 9-11, was not an entirely admired man. i will admit that i did enjoy him and claim "i want rudy giuliani to run for president", i must disagree now ( ... )

To clarify: my dad is socially liberal, economically veryyy conservative and for those reasons, is extremely in favor of the war.
