KNITTERS!

Jan 27, 2007 09:47

so my sweater pattern says,

"Inc each end of 7th row and every foll 8th row to 119(127:135) sts."

does that mean i increase the 7th AND 8th rows? or the 7th row, and then the 8th row the next time around, and then back to increasing the 7th???

explain, plz.

maybe you should ask in knitting?

i wasn't sure if it was too simple to ask! and i have a book at home that probably explains it.

anyway, i winged it, and it seems to be fine so far. if it's drastically wrong when i check my book, i'll redo it.

naw, that's what the community is for! as long as you state what the pattern is and everything - there could be people in the community who have knit it already.

i am still so new to knitting, and i had no idea the instructions could be so confusing. i am trying to knit a hat right now out of really cheap acrylic to practice (before i go using more expensive wool since i don't want to ruin it) and it is driving me nuts.

they can be confusing! this is my first project more complicated than a hat. the good thing about my pattern though is it has vintage styling, and so i can check that 1940s beginning knitting book i bought for sweater constuction hints!
