The conversation between Jess and Dean slayed me. So understated, so perfectly Dean, so sweet and awkward of Jess. And this gives their meeting in the Pilot some subtext, where Dean's "out of his league" comment isn't so much smarmy leering, but instead more of a secret tip of the hat for this phone call.

Ooh, I really love Sam/Jess fic. I loved the way you portrayed Jess...supportive, but intensely curious about Sam is the way he is. And I really enjoyed seeing Sam's personality through someone else's eyes. When you think about him wanting to just be "normal," and what it means to "normal" people not to have that kind of life, it does make things really sad - like not having gone to Disneyland, or freaking out over the flat tire.

Beautifully written and plotted. I loved it. :)
