Yay! We have new car!! Well, not NEW new, but new enough. It's a silver 2002 Ford Taurus XL. You can see a couple of bumps and dings where it was wrecked, but only if you're really looking. Otherwise, it looks new. It's definitely the nicest car I've ever had. It even has power windows! O_O Moving up in the world, let me tell you ( Read more... )

Wonderful! How fantastic to be able to pick up such a nice car...only a couple years old, without having to take out a major car loan! CONGRATS!

I was talking to a guy the other day who helps people refinance their houses and stuff and he said the average american family is financing 2.7 cars! WHOA! 0_0 Indeed! YIKES! *laughing* So you guys are in an awesome place.

And of course I guess heat is a good thing too *teasing grin*

Yeah, the first car is completely paid for, and all we need for the Taurus is just the $200 we owe the guy on the car, and then tag, title, and insurance. So, probably <$500 low-interest loan which we can pay off in a few months, and we'll be debt free again! (Except for student loans, which are gonna kill us when we get out of school.)

Yikes. I'm glad I'm getting out without loans. the average person in my class (in-state) has about $50-70 THOUSAND dollars in loans from vet school alone. Not counting undergrad.
Sheesh.
SO I'm happy you are 2car family with a working heater!! I'm currently a 1 truck family with out a working heater (may get fixed this weekend...see my LJ for details...if you dare) and a house with a sewer that FINALLY works correctly.
Boy oh boy...it's sheer bliss not worring about walking through your own refuse.
Indoor plumbing is a luxury we Americans forget about.

O.O

Wow. Just...wow. I'm suddenly very grateful for my properly-functioning toilet. I'm sure you have my husband's sympathies, as the sewer system at his job has overflowed a few times and flooded his office.
