As For Now

So I haven't written anything worth reading in about a month, and there seems to be people *coughcousincough* who get a bit annoyed by that. :P Guess I should write something then.

But it's one of those happy mellow times when I get to be a slacker and enjoy it. So there isn't much to write, other than my mental health/stress level has been doing ( Read more... )

I sang in Messiah from Scratch once or twice ... I don't know if that's what you saw, probably not... they do it at some church usually a few days after christmas... A whole bunch of people get together, (when I went the church was packed) and do a 2-hour rehearsal of selected numbers, then get together with the orchestra and run them through. I don't think there's an audience, other than the participants, though.

On another note, (har har, pun) I know one of the girls in Gypsophilia, Gina. Her boyfriend works at the deli on Saturdays (for the time being, anyway) he's also the drummer for Verbal Warnin' who used to play at Stage Nine every wednesday night. Not sure if they still have that gig or not. Haven't seen either of them play, but it would be neat to see both, I think. (I've been meaning to for quite some time)

I sang in a Messiah from scratch once when I was in New Hampshire. Was part of the soprano section- that was painful. Both vocally, and having to hear all the other can't quite reach those note types. I think I'll try alto next time.

What I was referring to though, was a proper full production that Symphony Nova Scotia put on. I've never heard a CD that could capture the sort of amazing depth of sound that a full orchestra playing baroque music has- it's awe inspiring.
