My boy is 2.  I'm 7 weeks pregnant with the 2nd one.  And life is good.  I have a husband who will be keeping up our agreement on this house, meaning I said we could not buy it unless he agreed to put in a jetted tub by the time we were pregnant again.  Well, he's running a little late, but this year instead of going on a trip for Thanksgiving, ( Read more... )

Your happiness is an inspiration to me, not something that makes me want to puke. If your friends happiness and contentment makes you want to puke, I think you have problems :)

I understand your point about the mother's group and the accountability factor. Like you say, such a group should have unconditional support for one another, and as moms you should all understand that time and energy for such things waiver depending on life situations. I'm sorry that it's not meeting your needs- maybe there's another group that will better fit your style. Or you could always start your own group on meetup.com - I'd go :)

I'm so excited about baby #2 and hopefully will have similar good news soon enough. I'm amazed how hard it is to get pregnant when you're trying. Unreal! Congrats, congrats, congrats to you!

You know for a long while in my relationship/marriage with Jay, we were afraid to be alone. We also worried about having a fight, and he would often (and still does) invite folks to the house and tell me we were going to have company in few hours. While some wives would shriek, I welcomed it. It was sort of an unspoken understanding that we didn't want to be alone together until we went to bed. Snuggling as we fell asleep was reassuring and we didn't have to talk to each other.
Lately, we have had the opposite. We have too many engagements and not with each other. The alone time now is premium stuff and something I now look forward to. Maybe just a marital phase?
Also, I don't at all mind hearing that things are going well for you. I don't feel the least bit nauseous. I'm so glad for you and baby #2. Take of yourself and that little bundle of energy. And tell that Mom's group where to stick it! :p
