I grapple, aching, for pieces of my Quebecois heritage. My French - my first language, after all - is atrophying because my ears and lips and eyes are never exposed to it anymore, and while I'm reminded almost every day - by little things, consistent bemusements  of "Oh! What do you mean you've never watched such-and-such!? How culturally deprived!
