I am really thrilled. I have just bought on EBay a copy of "Englishwoman's Domestic Magazine" for 1862, with 5 fashion plates. (Known as Mrs. Beeton!!)It was ridiculously cheap, if shabby, and I am just delighted. I have several "women's magazines" from the 19th century, but this is one I have always wanted. I can't believe nobody else bid!!

I have a fashion plate fr the very first edition, on my fotopic site. I wasn't so much bothered about the plates, as the book itself. I have an Akermann's Repository and a Ladies Magazine (that's 1798 I think) but no pics. Just a little quirk I guess.
