Have you ever noticed that those 4 chords are on the back of the 5 dollar bill? 4 x 5 = 20 + the 1 song = 21, the number of trumps in the Major Arcana of the Tarot. And also, it represents the 4 Biblical Chords of Wisdom--the father, the son, the holy spirit, and bread. The words "four chords" are also an anagram for "such rod for," contained in the sacred phrase "What is such rod for? Fishing for universal truth."
