I'm watching "Cosmos", Carl Sagan's short television series, on Hulu.  It's good.  Some of the stuff is sort of outdated, but it was produced in the seventies, and all things considered it's still pretty sound.  I like Sagan.  Even if he was a bit of a mammal supremacist.  (Early mammals evolved at about the same time as early dinosaurs.  Dinosaurs ( Read more... )

Too bad he's dead.

As for female body types, I think what you were trying to say is that female anatomy is the actual default of humans (in the womb). Either that or the fact that male nudity is often seen as "neutral" and female nudity is always sexualized or is feared to be. Otherwise it just looks like you're reversing the gender bias ;).

Oh. Okay, that makes sense. Though, to be fair, I think it really has to do with the fact that most of the people making these sort of programs were men and so associated female nudity more readily with sexuality.

That being said, that very bias in gender ratio itself has sexism in the sciences at its roots.
