LOL! Hi Joe! Ummm.....are you talking about the tassels on your corn plants? The things poking out the top? Those would be the pollen distributors and receptors. Like the pistil and stamen on a flower.
Out here in farm country, it is a rite of passage for every kid to spend part of at least one summer "detasseling" cornfields to make the hybrids. Miserable work! Don't worry....your plants look nice and healthy and not mutated at all! :D
Your garden looks fabulous! But remember to get a taller fence around it, because sometimes our canine friends suddenly decide that you've lavished enough attention on your precious plants, so they decide to take out the competition... Voice of experience! Those Napa cabbages were nearly ready for harvest!
