Love is Long

Blimey! My dead wife, lindamacca has her own journal now. This is like that Noel Coward movie Blythe Spirit or that Robyn Hitchcock song "My Wife and My Dead Wife". How very strange.

I've been meaning to write but I've been very busy again. My Best Girl and I are in New York City for a bit to finalise plans for the next leg of my World Conquest tour. I just ( Read more... )

Now that sort of mud-slinging is unncessary, don't you think? You have nothing to be jealous of. I'm on the transcendental plane, I am floating above you! I have to admit to being miffed you remarried so soon, and to this young bit of fluff. I mean, you always loved how I would rub my hairy legs all over you at night. My wardrobe the entire time we were married didn't add up to the cost of her ring! But, you know I wasn't about money, I'd had money, i didn't need your money! I am an angel in heaven, and I refuse to play your dirty little game, now you're being shagged daily.

Um... Linda...sorry for barging in and everything, but, er, aren't you awfully bitter for someone hanging with the angels?

Oh, and Sir Paul, can you see dead people, too? As well as correspond with them? That would be really cool if you could. You'd have a whole Sixth Sense thing going and everything. Maybe they could make a movie about it, and have Richard Gere do another X-Files ripoff and... no, wait, David Duchovny is available! Maybe your seeing and writing to dead people could be the basis for the next X-Files movie.

Or not.

I have to get to rehearsal.

Well, Keith, talking to dead people makes far mroe sense than talking to fictional characters. By talking to you, people are completely delusional. By talking to me, people are practicing the art of psychic phenomena, and that was out long before I Think I Love You.

Just because I am an angel doesn't mean I am free from bitterness and regret. Having the love of my life and my children taken from me at age 56 didn't exactly leave me dancing in the streets like an episode of Fame. Then, having the love of my life slam me in his journal didn't make me want to sing the hallelujah chorus.

I didn't slam you! I just said you were dead and I had to go on living because that's what you do, you know. Go on living. Be happy. Love life and all that. It's what you taught me, my darling Lin. I could have been miserable for the rest of my natural born life but I can't live that way. Besides, now that I know there's an afterlife, I'm happy to know I'll get to be with you then. Let's face it, Heather will outlive me and you and I will be together again sooner than later!

I don't wish to barge in on a lovers' quarrel, or post-lovers' quarrel, or post-mortem lovers' quarrel -- whatever this may be... but I must ask a question, Paul. I've heard this joke so many times now, its made me fairly ill, to tell you the truth. How many times have people asked you, regarding your new wife, "Will she still need you / will she still feed you / when you're sixty-four?"

The older we get, the stranger things get, eh?

Linda -- wonderful to see your ethereal essence around here.

You know, Bob, if I had a pound for everytime someone made that joke... oh, erm, wait! I do. Ha ha ha.

As for Linda, well, I think she's a phoney. Heather and I are calling in an exorcist. ::wink::

Hullo dad, wouldn't it be lovely if you actually updated your journal every now and again?

Well, Stella-love, you know I've been awfully busy what with the tour and the wedding and the other tour and then going to Japan and Mexico and massaging Heather's stump and shopping and changing credits on Beatle songs and putting together the live album and the DVD and your cousin's wedding and all that. But yes, you're quite right. I will be updating again at some point very soon. As soon as My Best Girl let's me up for air.
