So I dunno how many of you saw, but yesterday on AIM for a couple hours I had an away message that basically said it was going to take a miracle for me to get through the day. What did that mean exactly?
Basically, I had an entire final project to do research for and to write, which was an eight-page ordeal (which I still have to make sure ended up being handed in), as I hadn't time to do it this morning. But that was only half the fun, and that alone took me 'til 9:30 to finish (what with falling asleep twice while reading an article, lunch, dinner, and giving someone a jump start). But it got done, and from what my phone's txting service tells me, it got handed in as well (thanks a ton Chris, if you ever end up reading this). So God had His hand in that one, but as I said, there was yet more fun to undergo.
After that was done, I had to clean/rearrange my room and get it ready for new roommate. I still don't even know if I'm getting one ("probably" says my R.A.), but I had to make room anyways. Moved my stuff over to one side of the room, made it look pretty, and packed all of Dallas' stuff - all of which went remarkably quickly, now that I think back on it. God gets the credit for that one.
Oh, and laundry. I had a decent-sized pile sitting in my closet, and according to the list of things to do, it had to be washed before I left. Well, there went another $2.00 in quarters. Ah well, it was actually done ridiculously quickly as well, and none of the washers/dryers were in use when I got down there. God is still a master of circumstances.
While the laundry was going, there was plenty of fellowship going on in the commons right outside, where there was much free food. People eating Wheat Thins and cheese, sausages, and chopped fruit and talking about amusing stories that you tell when you have no worries for the rest of the semester. It was great, even though I hardly got a word in. "...nor the moon by night." Guess good exegesis of Psalm 121 really does have real-life application.
After that was packing, which also went remarkably smoothly (so much so that my carry-on was basically my external hard drive and 360 controller surrounded by two pillows). All clothing and accessories fit into another carry-on size bag, which I put in a bigger piece of luggage with another pillow and a few gifts I'd bought. Spatial reality is His, too.
And then my flying today. Slept on all three hops, and even had some of the best thin-crust pizza of my life (which, after I prayed for there to be food right outside the gate, was literally right outside the gate - no coincidence, methinks). God is faithful.
And that leaves me here, praying that I won't screw up on this break. He's shown that I can trust Him when I ask, so I think that now I can go in peace.
In the end, it breaks down that yesterday and today made God that much more real to me. It's incredible to note how much He actually intervenes in my life. There's just so much that I take for granted, but really He is faithful and is immanent.
Immanuel: God with us.
