I am surprised that the Onion didn't do a piece about Obama along these lines "The culmination of Senator Obama's VP announcement nonsense ended today in the one meaningful and foregone way--the Senator announced that there is only one man qualified to be his vice President--one man that can usher in the changes that we so desperately need--and in a move that stunned the world, Barack Obama named himself as his vice presidential running mate."

Given the hype, that is what I was looking for. Biden was kind of a foregone conclusion a couple of months ago. The hype was BS if you ask me.

Hype is ALWAYS bullshit; nobody reporting or reading about the veepstakes EVER had any actual input into the process. It's just fun. But I've worked myself up a lot for BHO this year, so I was excited. It's my own fault for raising my own expectations.

Not sure it was foregone conclusion though. Everything I read says there was serious debate and consideration of others. Imagine if Kaine had been picked a month ago (before Georgia) and McCain had used that to paint them both as unready, instead of just Obama. Georgia could have a hand in electing Obama before this is said and done.
