I really did it. I joined a gym. They have a pool! I can swim for my cardio! I miss swimming! Now I just need to actually go! Therein lies the challange. I love being at the gym. I enjoy working out. Getting the energy and gumption up to actually go to the gym is the hard part. Perhaps if I have a tracking system...what do you guys use to motivate ( Read more... )

It helps if you make it part of your routine. It is hard to say "I'm going to go to the gym today" and getting up the gumption to do it "today"; but if you say "I'm going to go to the gym on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday" then it is much easier. Because you already know you are going to the gym. You have plenty of time to prepare yourself, to get the gumption, and to plan the rest of your day around it; then it just seems like the right thing to do. Keep it up long enough and it becomes difficult *not* to go to the gym.
