I don't think this device, or any like it, will ever replace dead-tree books.
On the other hand, I've been waiting a long time for a device like this. (And looking at the price and features, I'll be waiting a lot longer.) Something like this would be perfect for: * Periodicals, you really only read a few of the articles anyway, why not browse for them and jump right to them instead of flipping pages. * Resource material, doesn't the idea of a fully searchable, 10oz, dictionary, encyclopedia, TCP/IP reference manual, etc. give you wet dreams?

sorry, having a Dictionary, encyclopedia etc doesn't exactly give me wet dreams so much as the thought of 300 books in my purse. I think I'll wait till it comes in cool colors, has a whole line of accessories, and isn't priced at $400.
