People are bad at generating random numbers. If you ask someone to generate a random number, they will generally try to think of a number that has no obvious method behind its generation. Most of the time, that means avoiding composite numbers- especially round numbers- even though these numbers will indeed pop up in random sequences ( Read more... )

I am interested in designing informational displays of maximum communicative power. The problem with Edward Tufte is that he's just an opinionated guy. Tonight, I went to a friend's house. radicalteacher and her SO were there, and our experiences with AG and DH came up. I learned a few things about both AG and DH, and I became aware of a surprising amount of pent-up anger inside myself regarding my experiences with them.
