This is rather appalling.

Well thank God McCain has at least started back tracking to a degree. For the last week Palin and McCain have been whipping up the crowds to the point they were crazed and screaming 'kill him' when either were talking about Obama. I have never seen anything like it. Incitement to violence is against the law and Mccain was getting huge blow back for what he and Palin were doing. It looked like they were trying to get Obama killed.
It was scary.
I would feel shame to have crowds of people like that support me. It is the lowest grade of humanity.

Yeah, I agree. There should be a separate party for them, so that their kind can be cordoned off from whatever is good about the Republican party (which I admit may not be very much).

It's like...political soccer hooligans. I think this comparison was made before, at the GOP convention with Sarah Palin where everyone started chanting "USA!" like they were cheering on a sports team.

Yeah, that's also despicable, if you think about it. Obviously they are implying that the Democrats are somehow anti-USA. So this delusion becomes part of their argument, as happens so often in right-wing polemics.
