Yesterday we had a swarm of bees in our back yard. And when I saw a swarm, I mean something pretty damned impressive looking. Not like a mile wide swarm of locusts devouring everything in their path, but still, not just a few bees hanging out together either

I suspect there is good money in beekeeping these days, what with major colony collapse problems.

Colony collapse issues seem to be extremely connected to commercially-kept bees, who are trucked around agricultural areas (literally in trucks). Free-roaming bees are doing much better.

But there is money in beekeeping, and also in honey.
