Obama Rally in CT

Feb 05, 2008 00:10

This was an incredible experience. The Obama campaign was hoping to get 10,000 people and got a full house. The seating holds 16,500 people, and the floor probably held what seemed like at least another 3,000-4,000. Here are some highlights. Click on any of the photos to jump to the full album.

Yeah -- the paper said that the fire marshal started turning people away when the crowd reached 19,000 or something like that -- standing room only in the seats, and a whole mess of people on the floor.

I think it is just AMAZING that a political event attracted so many people. It's a wonderful thing!!!

Jim doesn't know yet because I forgot to tell him, but I was reading my blogs yesterday and someone (also a knitter, and also from CT) was at the rally and posted her own pictures -- she was in the stands and I was able to find Jim in her photo. :-)

You can click on the picture in the post and it'll go to the picture on flickr. I had to blow it up to original size to find you, but now that I know where you are I can see you even in the smaller version. :-)
