I both love you and commiserate with you. Immensely. Hang in there!
One quick thing is that on Craigslist in the Art/Media/Design jobs section, I ALWAYS see a slew of graphic design ads for freelance work. I think it'd definitely be worth checking out. And because of your location, you can be checking NY, Philly, and Jersey craigslist areas.
How far would you be willing to commute? I know Matt is a big far out there for you, but could you make it to Philly/Cherry Hill? Trenton? Also, I know you are looking for anything that isn't manual labor in the cold, but is there anything you'd like in a job? Indoors, not handling refuse, midget wrestling in the lunchroom?
I am looking for something with what would amount to a normal schedule but would trade that if compensated for it. I.E. most restaurants want me to work 70-80 hours a week but will only pay 7-8 dollars an hour. That does not work. Right now i dont make to much an hour but i work monday thru friday for the first time ever 7-4
an hour an a half drive would need the job to be worth the commute, but trenton may be a bit better.
I dont mind labor i am good at it, but i will take a serious look at most jobs.
Would you consider mailroom or clerical stuff? You might be able to score a 9-5 at a big business in the area. 40 hour work weeks, vacation time, and full-timer benefits.
Our mail dude is cool. Cruises around with the cart, being all friendly all day. You could be indoors and warm, and schmooze the old ladies like I know you can.
check out Joule Staffing. They have some light industrial work with Gore. Thats were I am and they are really nice. They are in Wall and pay about $12 - $13 an hour. The dept you would be in works 3 12 hour days then has off 2. www.joulestaffingsolutions.com The office is in Toms River. 732-240-0209
