Man, it's okay. Um, now he'll like, get to be really evil and stuff all the time. Who needs girls anyway?

And it does make him more of a traditional supervillain, with the tragic backstory and whatnot.

I really liked the ending. I thought it made sense given the characters. Dr. Horrible wasn't suddenly going to turn good just because Penny asked nicely, and neither was Penny someone who would seemingly give up her principles just to date an all-powerful villain. Dr. Horrible's plan for wooing her was to shoot her with a freeze ray and then offer her Australia. (Because, you know, women love continents.) He was a creep - a sympathetic creep, but a creep, nonetheless. Becoming a fully-fledged villain, complete with angst and an emo vlog made sense given the characters and their decisions. For this, I approve.

This is kind of in response to you and Kevin:
I hate stories that go "lalalasillinesshahatragedy." I'll begrudgingly acknowledge that the ending is fresh and different, and that any other ending I can come up with is reminiscent of saturday morning cartoons.

But. I wish he would have at least made an effort to keep her head in a jar or something, like any other decent mad scientist would have.

And basically I hate tragedy that comes suddenly, rather than inevitably like the classical tragedies. I want to know before I start watching something if I should expect my heart to be broken.
