So I haven't posted in a long time, but now I've got all this free time, so I might as well start journaling again.

I'm seriously considering moving away from LJ, especially since there are stories like this, which seem to indicate that things might be drying up here soon.  My main reason to stay is to keep tabs on various people who update every ( Read more... )

Still, I'm thinking of buying some cheap webspace and starting up a WordPress blog to crosspost my public entries to. No personal entries, mind--nothing currently on the web beats LJ's privacy--just pictures of cats and stupid YouTube videos and shit. Like LJ without a heart.

Authentication. It's really easy to spoof an IP address, and there's no centralized registry of WordPress users I can authenticate against.

Well, that's disturbing. I dunno. Someplace I can have a friends page, as that is the major LJ feature I use-apart from entry permissions.

If LJ goes away, I will vanish from the internet.

Or from most networking, anyway.

(I am already thinking about running away from Facebook.)
