This was never really addressed, and that's odd, because I'd really expect someone as smart as Juno to use proper birth control.

A lot of teenagers don't know how to use condoms correctly, and since this was their first time, I wouldn't be surprised. And even with a condom there's that 0.1% chance or whatever that you can still get pregnant.

Are you still planning on moving to California in the summer?

I agree with everything you said about Juno! I'm sure you well know that I loved that movie to death, 'cause I wouldn't shut up about it, but that doesn't mean I can't also think critically about it. I wouldn't change a word because Diablo Cody's style deserves to infuse every bit of it, but - yes. I agree.

"Did they just not use a condom or what?"I have thought this a LOT! And I am not sure why they never even touched it. I can see that that's not really the point, so they didn't really think it would be productive to spend screen time angsting about it because it should be understood ... BUT on the other hand, young people who go see movies should learn about condoms. And how to insist on them even when your sex partners really, really don't want them.
