I'm back again, folks! My diary's almost finished, there are only a few blank pages left. I'll start a new one in June, so I thought I'd share some more of my pages from the past month and a half!
How chubby my moleskine got!
Tabs by month! When I started in this diary, I divided it up into thirty-sheet sections to help judge my progress, and ended up with four parts overall...
Planning and ideas for introduction games for the new first years, and a quiz plan for the second years.
At the very top of the page is a continuation from an entry I was writing in an extremely long and complicated all-in-Japanese staff meeting. "Saigo ni narimashita-ga" usually signifies that a particularly long-winded speech is coming to an end...!
The following day was a day out-of-schedule - I was sent to my second high school on the other side of town. We had a new rotation of staff, so things were really different when I got there. For starters, my computer had vanished...
We have parents' day every month or so, which basically means that all of the students mothers can come and stand in the back of the classroom. The teacher I was with wanted revision games, and a getting-to-know you activity since the classes were all newly-formed at this point in the school year...
PTA meeting after the parents day nobody told me about. So I had the interesting experience of sitting in an empty staffroom..
First day at elementary school in the new year; trying to get a handle on new teachers. My first class was TERRIBLE because none of the software I use worked, and I had no English-speakers to help me!!!
Thanks to a word association game, one of the third year classes now keeps calling one of the English teachers a "sexy gorilla". I am partly to blame for this.
I had a morning of regular classes, and then another parents day class in the afternoon.
Took myself to a local park at the weekend.

Month-of-May planner.
At my second school for the month. All the other teachers had their physical exams at the start of the month (my working year starts in August, so I won't have to do mine until September...). The women were tough as nails after the blood tests. The men came back looking increasingly wounded.
And whining again about Japan's education of less-able students :/
We had a whole bunch of holidays at the start of May, so I only had two working days at the beginning of the month. I did a bit of travelling with my friends. It was amazing, and the weather was wonderful <3
There was a festival in the city. I understood what was going on, but all my friends were away =/
More confusion, more planning.

A teacher asked me to make a game. It went wrong. He didn't help. I was frustrated. And a sweet note from another teacher Iput together a bunch of crossword puzzles for.
Basic summation of that day. And it was only with one class. I had another two classes with him the following day where he wanted to run the same lesson.
Still annoyed.

Complaining to my mother. The back-and-forth went on for a while :\

Some proof of how many ways I use my diary. I had three fifth year classes doing the same activity at Elementary school, and by the time that I was done, my copy of the table the kids have in their textbook was full of signatures. So I improvised and made on in my journal.
I was also trying to recreate the colour use in the note I got with my sample set of mixing inks XD

The next journal - a Rhodia Webnote this time. I was going to use the lego moleskine from my last post, but one of my fifth year Elementary school kids came and gave me this adorable postcard and I just thought it had to go somewhere special. So I laminated it and stuck it on here.
