Two things, let's see if I can remember both.

1) I would have enjoyed the speakers had the speaker system not blown out 15 minutes after I got there. I suspect foul play...

2) I'm pissed off (though not surprised) that the NY Times has been underestimating the numbers of people at the March.

How do you know they're underestimating? All the talk from those of you that were there is reminding me a lot of what people from the Million Man March said, and they overestimated their own numbers too. I'll wait for more reliable data...

Quoth Josh E. The organizers reported distributing over a million of the "count me in" stickers given to marchers when we signed forms identifying ourselves, which is a number I'm inclined to trust and a method which, based on personal experience, is much more likely to under-count than to over-count people.

Last I heard the NY Times was only saying hundreds of thousands, which is not inaccurate, but...yeah still pisses me off.

You don't think one or two of the deputized sticker-hander-outers could've lost a roll of the stickers, or had people take 10 each to increase the numbers? I trust Josh's experience, but I'd still rather wait for a more scientific estimate.

I don't know if I'd go so far to say that PRWORA punishes women for having children, but I'd venture to say that one underlying fear of welfare reform that AFDC encouraged people to have children is false - it just isn't true in the data.

I don't know why I felt the need to say that.

Anyways, I wish I could have gone to the march as well, but I was busy and no one I know here really cares enough, and I don't know the Democrats so well. They're kind of elitist. Maybe it's just me. I don't know.
