He doesn't know quite how or when this started. They had lunch a few times in the commissary. Then they started hanging out during their off time-as a group, as a pair, it didn't matter-and soon they were spending most of their off time together. It wasn't weird, they told themselves, they were best friends.
Nothing official had ever been defined, but then one day he'd given in to temptation and kissed her, and they had been inseparable outside of the SGC ever since. At work they were all business, but outside of work Daniel had gotten to know the non-regulation side of Sam very well over the last few months.
And as they sat on her couch, lit by the soft glow of the Christmas tree, Sam snuggled back into his arms, and he smiled when her hand curled around his arm, tugging it tighter around her waist.
