I agree! People need to understand that Gazette was not the first visual metal band. X was visual, but all these bands today love them because they were one of the few prog metal bands in Japan to actually go somewhere. I think as far as the Visual Kei image/themes go, Luna Sea is really a better representative (Pata is so not Visual, he just knows he can't do anything better... though I like his Ra:in band). But fans are like "ewww I'm 14 and don't know anything beyond what I heard on Death Note, Nightmare is so kewl<3<3 What's a Lunacy? They sound old ( ... )

No, I totally respect Pata, he's good people. Actually, the only living members/former members I really like are Taiji and Pata. Taiji's songs were my favorite, and I just lost interest in the band when he left and it became all super melodramatic Yoshiki stuff. The man can wield drumsticks, but his music bores me.

Nooot a fan of Toshi's voice (he's good, I just don't like that stylization) and I used to like Luna Sea but Ryuuichi's voice IS kinda... I dunno. It's like Kirito's voice in that I can only hear the song a few times before I want to strangle someone.

I would love to personally meet those people and give them a nice punch to the head. Obviously those who think these two monster bands suck are really only into VK for their looks. How sad.

Ah don't get me wrong. Perhaps that sounded insulting and I apologize for that. Sometimes the new VK fans tend to give me that impression, that's all. I didn't mean to offend you.

I'm pretty open-minded when it comes to the music I like, so I try not to diss certain bands and fawn over other ones...

But LS and X, without a doubt, deserve way more credit and respect than an artist like Miyavi, or bands like Girugamesh and D'espairsRay.
Yeah, they're newer maybe... and more appealing to younger people...
But LS and X are the influences. They're more... I can't even really think of the words...

I'm not so much into X or Luna Sea or Buck-Tick, but at least I know where they stand in the history of visual kei o.o;; I can respect that.
