I know all you computer people hate it when people like me ask these questions, but I don't want to buy something that is a POS. I am looking into buying a laptop. What are the specifications that I would want/need? All I want to be able to do is download music, burn, maybe watch DVD's, wireless internet. Nothing fancy like computer games.

I agree. My laptop has extended warranty and it's been the best thing ever to have. And I also have a Dell and love it to pieces.

Have you considered a Mac? I loooooooooove my ibook like no other. Never a single problem, and with Macs there are no worries of viruses or spyware. Apple gives student discounts (you're college-affiliated...close enough). Comes with wireless, itunes, all DVD/CD stuff you could want to do...just perfect. I have a 14" and it cost me $1100
