:) I had an idea about why Neal might keep asking this question. Or, really, I hope I know why he's asking. It's actually probably just wishful thinking on my part ;)

I started out with the idea that, as Peter suspected, Neal is re-imagining his childhood. Then I realized that maybe he's thinking about how he might raise his own kids someday too, if he can get past the idea that Kate's the one and only. (Although that was a secondary thought on my part.)
And maybe there are other reasons I haven't thought of yet! Would you like to share your idea? (No pressure!)
