Armour dried beef in white gravy over any kind of bread (SOS). And fried potatoes and sliced wieners. These were things my eldest sister made for us while my mom worked nights.
Leftover rice heated with a bit of butter, milk and cinnamon-sugar. Almost like a pudding, but not cooked enough to thicken.
Grilled PBJCC, that is peanut butter, jam, and cream cheese sandwich, with the outside buttered and then grilled. I first had this at a Victorian house converted into a restaurant in the SE Hawthorne antique district of Portland, Oregon. I have a happy memory of shopping here with my newlywed husband. I still have the velvet cape, but I've lost the deerskin gloves. There's a house there called Blue Bird Inn that rents out as an unattended hotel I'd love to stay in on a return visit, hopefully for my 30-year class reunion this summer.
