First!
Wow. This is so different from the Ralph and Laurie we're used to seeing. I really, really enjoyed this. Ralph seeing his Dad again would set something inside him that I don't think he'd be ready to handle.
"There are places in me you don't want to go." Yes we do!
Can't wait for more! Great job!

Thank you! This is one that had been nudging at me for a while--that at some point back in England Ralph's past was going to slap him in the face. And of course, we always knew that Ralph could handle himself in a fight. ;-)

So true. The moment Laurie hurt his knee Ralph was going to end that fight. ;-p I do love the image I have now of them dancing together alone in their flat. So thank you for that.

Sometime, I really do have to write the scene where Ralph first convinces Laurie to dance with him.

Ooh, loved this. I like h/c and Ralph taking care of Laurie and this scratched my itch. But then hurt Ralph, and Laurie working to get Ralph to let him in, comfort him... well Yay!

And like dramadream10, I loved the image of them dancing together. *happy sighs*

Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

One day I have to write the little scene I have in my head of Ralph coaxing Laurie to dance with him the very first time. *smile*

OK, that does it, count me in as a Ponyter fangirl! His line: "A bit exaggerated. I wouldn't say filthy. Perhaps a bit soiled..." Poynter lifted an eyebrow as he ostentatiously considered it. "Filthy might increase sales." is nothing short of absolute perfection!

Between Ralph seeing his father, and the fight, you've written Ralph and Laurie reversing their usual roles very effectively - and it works very well. There are very few moments when I'm convinced that Alec is right about Laurie, and you've written another one here. (Have to admit, I wondered for a moment if you'd have the police turning up, and taking the side of the thugs, as I understand they were likely to do in those days.) The end of the scene with Ralph failing to keep a stiff upper lip is a nice contrast with his earlier reaction.

Yes, well, there is a very good chance the police would have taken the side of the thugs, sad to say.

Hehe I'm glad you like Poynter. Funny how when you can see a character clearly in your mind, you can write them. That's the way I am anyway.

Of course, Ralph will never admit that happened at the end of the scene. They'll never mention it again. *chuckle*

I was really in the mood for something like this tonight. Great story. Ralph's dad needs a kick in the butt, and I loved Ralph and Laurie fighting off the gay bashers. They didn't know who they were taking on there. :-)))
