Rejecting Books

Suppose when you browse a shelf in your favorite book store, you had to write a short note to the author of each book you didn't buy, explaining why you didn't purchase their book...

I think I'd end up writing a ton of notes that said "just not my thing" or "didn't have a good enough hook." And the occasional "cover art made the heroine look too skanky/ditzy."

For the textbooks, nowadays it would be: "didn't tell me anything that my many other textbooks don't" or "cost too much to be worth the information."

There might be a few unique ones in there, though... Perhaps wandering through a bookstore, browsing and writing a note for every book you left behind would be an interesting exercise.
