Riot seems like a brilliant horse to learn on! Niels is just like that, I've always had problems on the left rein with him, and we've always just said that Niels finds that rein more difficult. Recently though I've noticed that I sit a bit twisted, and my left leg is just crap and tense, etc, etc and when I really concentrate on sitting better he goes so much nicer! Horses are incredible things. :)

Definitely agree about the not getting frustrated thing, it just makes the learning process take longer, no?

Yes! I've been meaning to reply, but I keep not getting around to it because of distractions.

Lesson 15 is tomorrow. I'm going to have to get batteries for the camera. ^_^

Maybe I'll print up a big eggb4thechicken fan sign for you, featuring me & Riot. ^_^

If I had your number and knew how to dial internationally, I'd have totally called you up to say you're so right about not not getting frustrated.

We just had lesson 15 this evening. I'll post about it later and/or tomorrow, but there's five new videos on my youtube channel. ^_^

I love your comment about how you can't fall off the back. haha Although this could be part of the reason you're having trouble getting him to canter, he associates leaning back as asking for a downwards transition. (Looking at the video where Betsy was riding him) Try sitting more like you do in trot, you might find it easier? Just a suggestion. :) Most people are used to beginners feeling like leaning forwards is the safest place to be. :P
