So...because of the whole Elaine Stritch thing last night (me trying to go see her show at Jazz! and not being able to go in for my shift and ending up having no one to cover my shifty...though I do have a connection through Elaine now), it appears that I am currently fired from my job. I won't call myself down and out though until I talk to ( Read more... )

Could you have not gone on a day that you were not working?

I don't get why you had to lose your job just to kiss this woman's ass. Especially considering how you WERE making extra money and considering how you WERE spending that money hand over fist as opposed to saving it in case you were fired for not thinking something through.

Remember Bubba Gump? How easy do you think it is to get a decent job there, especially one that gave you the opportunity for that kind of extra cash. Stupid Joel, just stupid. If you think being wreckless in trying to achieve your goal is the way to do it, think again. This woman probably has wanna-be actors lining up to kiss her ass if she's as important as you think she is. Losing your job to get into that line is only irresponsible.

For fuck's sake, you should have justed called in sick. Use your head.

I did what I had to do Jeff. And no, it's not about kissing her ass, because I haven't done that one bit. And no, I coudln't have gone another night because it was a one night deal. And no, I really don't think she has a whole line up of actor's wanting to "kiss her ass" because sadly a lot of my generation doesn't even know who she is, and beyond that, not everyone just gets to talk to her whenver they please. I established my connection free of ass kissing, but simply just based on who I am ( ... )

Actually it is my business because I know who you're going to go running to to help pay your rent. Because I have a feeling that mom didn't know about the extra money you were making, did she? Was she still helping you with the rent despite the fact that you could have probably paid it yourself without concern? You have exploited her before and if you weren't doing so recently I'd be surprised. I know your attitude toward this enough to know why you're not concerned with the job. At some point you will need to realise that trying to shortcut through everything is not going to work. The entire attitude reminds me too much of a certain someone we both know.

Listen friend, don't speak of things you don't know of for sure. The so called extra money you speak of I have made on ONE SINGLE OCCASION, that being the Bo Diddley birthday show. ONE TIME and that's it. You make it sound as if I was doing it every week. I think I partook in it also way back in November or December, but my cut was nothing anywhere near even a hundred dollars. So no, I do not keep making these massive extra amounts of cash, with the exception of one single night ( ... )
