I first found your blog last year when my teenage daughter was diagnosed with PKD. Since then, my husband has also been diagnosed. Apparently he is a mutation, because neither of his parents had it (both are deceased and had autopsies), and none of his siblings have it. It's been a tough year, but it helps so much to see others living good lives in spite of PKD.

With best wishes,

As I said to my wife; there are a lot worse things that I could have gotten. If (as I did) need a kidney, I can go on dialysis until one is available. If I need a liver, I either get one, or I die. That simple. So, it's all about keeping perspective.
I wasn't in the best frame of mind when I was first diagnosed, and I was very negative. But I changed all that, and I firmly believe that is what got me through so well. Keep in touch.
