The actual surgery now seems like it was longer ago than it actually was, and dialysis is a distant memory. I think it's due to feeling so much better, and pretty much being fully recovered from the surgery. I also tend to look forward more than I look back, so that could also explain it.

Thanks for this blog - It's meant a lot to me! I have PKD, about 20% function left, and your positive attitude has helped me think about my own life.

Hang in there. I had 20% function 2 years before needing dialysis, so you may be able to hold off for a while. Good luck.

I forgot to ask; are you in the process of being put on the list for transplant? Has your Nephrologist discussed which dialysis you will use? If so, and you decide on Hemodialysis, are you scheduled for a fistula yet?
