I think the reason (and if not the reason, then certainly a large contributor to the problem) I get sad is because I carry a lot of it all on my own. I don't talk to anyone, I don't let anyone in. Any hobby that takes up a lot of concentration is perfect for this, particularly exercise I believe though I've never tried that more than just taking myself off on a walk occasionally. It just anything to stop the negative thoughts in their track.
