Genetics Fail
EastEnders is really bothering me.
Why doesn't anybody understand enough basic biology to know that checking Mick's blood group won't be enough to determine paternity? It narrows the field, yes, but only when the other man in the frame is a total randomer. Except in this case, it isn't! It's his brother! Dean and Mick have the same parents, they share around 50% DNA, they probably have the same blood type. Maybe this is where the plot is going, I don't know, but it is incredibly irritating to watch. Even a DNA test might cause some difficulty - I saw an episode of Maury Povich where a woman had cheated on her boyfriend with his cousin and the first paternity test was inconclusive. And that was a cousin!
So yes, there's that. Looking beyond those inconsistencies, I am enjoying Danny Dyer a lot more than I thought I would.
