Packers in the Playoffs?

I have officially spent way too much time this evening, after the ugliest victory I've seen in quite some time, figuring out if and how the Packers can wind up in the playoffs. With the win over the Vikings, the Packers are 7-8 (6-5 in NFC). The top five teams in the NFC are 8-6 or better and cannot be caught by the Packers. The Packers, ( Read more... )

I did analye the absurd "everyone ends up at 7-9" situation. It is absurd but mathematically possible. I don't know which of the like 5 7-9 teams would get the #6 slot, but the Packers would lose the "games in common" tie-breaker to New Orleans 0-5 vs. 1-4 with a 2nd loss to Chicago... so the Giants or another team would get in.
