Nellie McKay has done it again. Finally got my hands on Pretty Little Head and I'm loving it. Maybe not quite as good as Get Away From Me, but it's still damned great to hear. Her voice never ceases to thrill. Instantly catchy. January 3rd ( Read more... )

Oh yay! I'm glad she put out another good album! I love "Get Away From Me," so I totally look forward to hearing the new stuff! :D

DId you get the "full" version? I heard it leaked, but I don't really do the download thing so much. If you have a handy zip file or YSI of the album, maybe you would share?

I actually just asked for an advance of it yesterday and was told that the January 3rd date is likely not going to stick now. She's badmouthed Sony so bad in the recent weeks, they had a meeting on a Monday and I was told that they decided to sit on the album for now. I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere else yet, but the guy was weird with me on the phone and almost was insinuating that he thought she would be let out of her contract before the album came out. Maybe I just read too much into it. ANYWAY, now I really want to hear it.

I tried to d/l that file myself, but my Mac couldn't read the "rar" file or whatever...so I can't listen to it. Boo!

As far as the full version goes, this is not. Nellie has been railing against Columbia because she wants the disc to have 23 tracks (I believe) and she has been giving journalists CD-Rs of that version. She has said that Columbia releases the 16 track version than they should release it as "Pretty Little Head" by the Sony Corporation and take her name off it because it isn't the version she wants to release.
