Still no power. No kidding.

The town of Derry brought generators to the town pumping stations yesterday just so they could get water pressure to our half of town. So that's an improvement.

I bought one of these to charge at work so we can have lights on our tree:

Right now, we've kind of reached an equilibrium point. We do need more D batteries, and maybe another couple camping lanterns. But I can hopefully get those at lunch today, or get them from my parents when we see them on Saturday.

Don't get the ray-o-vac heavy duty. They don't last very long, obviously.

Need one of those little coffee brewers things you put right over the cup.
and a manual can opener. Can't find ours.

Manual can opener was one of the things Alex had out last week. I can get one easily.

My goodness, it's taking a long time to get you guys back on! Yikes. I'm surprised you haven't decamped to the parents!

Can't bring 5 cats and 2 ferrets to my parents. And PSNH keeps bumping back the estimates on getting power to Derry. Yesterday at noon, they said 95% of Derry would have power back by midnight last night. Now they are saying midnight Friday.

Well that sucks.

I found out today that the local police called in all off-duty staff so they could send some officers south to provide security for line crews. Apparently they are being threatened by people and cannot work in some areas.

I'm definitely wiring the house for a generator, we have missed the last three ice storms and that luck won't hold out.

Having the christmas tree lights on last night made a big, big difference. It lit up the whole house a lot more and cheered me up a lot.
