At Bible Camp last week, Greg Boyd was urging us not to compartmentalise, but to see God in all spheres and areas of our lives. I need to learn to live in the 'now'. With God in all areas, wherever my 'now' resides. (Julie)
Well, yes, use whatever terminology you like. The idea behind my posting was that just as we want others to see things from our point of view, God does, too. I have a saying, that religion is man reaching for God, and relationship is God reaching to man. We need relationship, not a religion, a partitioned area of our life where we embrace the idea of God in whatever way we feel is comfortable. God is life, not a segment of our life.
God wants us to see things from His point of view? Interesting way of putting it. I suppose that adds more direction to our prayers than simply, "Thy will be done"! (Julie)
You are welcome! I believe that there is more to the Bible and God than both believers and non-believers realize. We seem to desire parameters, ways to confine and define God, thinking that this pleases Him. However, there is a wealth of revelation that lies just beyond the words, "...as He is, so are we, in this world." (from 1 John 4:17), than most would care to believe, nor explore. I believe God is beckoning us further to see Him, and us, in deeper ways than just "dirty sinners, saved by grace."
