My word my heart really goes out for poor Miranda here. The hell she endured to become the idealogical epitome of perfect is terrifying to say the least. I always knew her father was a beast but wow reading it first hand like this takes on a whole new meaning of chilling. Its eerie how similar yet so different her suffering was from that of Jack. I really loved how you captured the sterile detachment of her father's personality and mindset. How everything and everyone is nothing more than pawns in some great grand game that is his world.

Thank you for exploring this in further detail I never thought I'd ever say this but I think I might actually come to like and respect Miranda after reading these fics.

Yikes. I wasn't expecting the fic to be from her father's point of view, and that made it even harder to read about all of the things that were happening to her. She's so in control in the game, it's really easy to forget that all of this horrible stuff was done to her when she was a child.

Awesome fic, and I can't wait to read more!

Thank you so much. This is a one-shot, but some things are picked up again in Persistence of Memory. And yes, it's easy to forget that Miranda was abused because it was subtler and she's far more controlled than Jack.

Sweet, I am definitely going to go back and read the rest of your Miranda stuff when I get home from work. :)

I recommend reading Persistence on FFN or Archive of Our Own. I gave up updating it here.
