I'm a little ... I don't know, scared?

This place scares me. I mean I guess I should say places... LJ and my actual location in VA. Another place scares me. That would be Boone, NC. A few months ago, my beloved {sometimes I may call him doo-doo head or whatever} was faced with an offer by his sister and bro-in-law to go to Boone to be the Executive Chef in their restaurant The Mountain ( Read more... )

I couldn't handle living in the middle of nowhere. How far away is this place from civilization? I mean, is it reasonable?
Whatever happens though, you can make the best of it. My prayers are with you & doo-doo head! :D

Maybe you guys will fall in love with the place when you visit. You never know. Just try to keep an open mind. Everything will work out ok.

Hmm just looked up Boone, kinda reminds me of places here! How far is the nearest city? I think it looks beautiful there. And doesn't NC have gorgeous beaches?

Change is scary, but this might turn out to be the best thing you guys ever did. Sometimes taking a risk is necessary, look at it like an adventure. Let me know what happens when you check it out.

Love you, dollface.

Thanks so much, guys! Talking about it had made me feel much better. I haven't told my family yet...well, I've told my dad but he's easier to talk to. My mom wouldn't rest easy so I feel it's too soon to involve her until I know for sure.
Boone, Banner Elk and Sugar Mountain... all beautiful. I suppose if I don't get a nose bleed from the altitude, i should be alright. It's not desolate, right? I mean, I lived in St. Croix- the island was 27 miles long- living there felt very isolating at times.
As far as the beach, it's on the East Coast and I think Boone is more like NW North Carolina. Like I said, I may take up skiing. Or better yet, the art of Lodge Socializing, LOL!

Just talk with your beloved doo-doo head about it before you go. When I left for Mobile, I told myself that if I didn't like it I wouldn't stay. If you're both okay with that idea, go for it. You may love it, you may hate it, but you don't have to stay! Isn't choice a wonderful lifter of burdens?

Ah, get married. It's not that bad, lol.

I wish that you would call me and talk to me! :(

But I am glad to see you make an actual post about what all is going on with you! Ya know, maybe this is the change that you (both) need in your lives! I don't know why you have to get married before you go (but that's just my anti-marriage side talking) but if that's how you think you should "roll"...then do it!

You can always move back if you can't stand it! And you might be surprised with yourself...you are stronger than you give yourself credit for.
I love you little girl...

I'm such a chicken- I am sorry.
It's 7pm, we're having Bible study at 7:30.... I'm calling you whether you're home or not.
Thank you SO much.

I understand how hard it can be to reach out to people...even people who love you and who you love...when you feel your life is falling apart!

So, all I care about is making sure that you know just how much I love you and would do anything for you...if you ever need it!
