Our backs were against the pole, the four unwanted. The others, the wretched, danced in front of us. Their maypole ribbons teasing us, brushing past our faces, flaunting the fact that they were dancing and we were mere ribbon holders once they had exhausted their moves. I'm sorry for that happening....and you paint such a vivid picture that I can feel everything as if I was there. Too often people don't take children as serious as they should....all too often we are influenced or even shaped by an event that to others may have been inconsequential. Joe H.
