Dates are certainly fun, but if they don't end up really going anywhere, they just end alone and depressed, with you thinking about all the other dates you've had that didn't go anywhere.

On the other hand, I'm going to Chicago Thursday to see Radiohead Friday (!!!!!)

Are you sure the date didn't go anywhere? Sometimes dates go a lot better than you think they did. I'd give it a week or two.

Also, seeing Radiohead in Chicago should be enough to break you out of any post-lousy-date funk you might have put yourself into. It's freakin' Radiohead, man! I floated the idea about going to Lollapalooza past Petey several months ago, but his disdain for music festivals is great, so great that not even seeing Radiohead in concert could overcome it. I guess we'll just have to wait until they come back through Texas at some point and live vicariously through you until then.

Well, it's possible. But during the show (we went to see some bands at a local venue) she was saying that she tried to go with some other friends but they couldn't make it, so that was awesome. She also asked me if I had a friend who was coming, which I thought was kinda weird, considering I never brought it up at all. Afterwards, I decided I at least needed to get a hug, and it was the shittiest hips-back noodle-armed hug I've gotten since middle school.

So, I don't have a lot of hope for it ^_^

I don't know why PT hates the fests so much. You'd think they'd totally be his style. It's gonna hella-rock!

I think Petey secretly wishes that he were already 70 years old so he could sit on the front porch and spray intruding neighbor kids with a garden hose. All those young upstarts at Lollapalooza just make him realize how far away he is from realizing his dream.

Also, the one time we went it was about 105* F outside and Petey + prolonged exposure to heat = very cranky. I think it left a pretty bad impression.

I'm sorry your date ended up being a dud. Still, there's always the potential that you made a good impression nonetheless and you'll get a call back.
