So I had wanted to see Sweeney Todd in theaters, but missed it....damn. So it came out this week on dvd...wanted to rent it, totally out....damn. I have seen Sweeney Todd performed on stage and it became one of my favorite stage productions I've ever seen. On the recommendation of a friend who has seen the stage production and the movie I just went

What did you think of Helena Bonham-Carters singing voice?

very very nice....i was very surprised by everyones singing voices, they were all really good!

you fail:P I bought sweeney todd the day it came out.....and am showing it in my room tonight at 6, because so many people wanted to borrow it....like holy crap.

Just for the record...I am slighted by helena bonham-carters depiction of mrs. lovett, mostly because she's supposed to be an alto.....not when helena sings.....being an alto myself I find this blasphemy :)

there were versions of the stage production in which they used a soprano for the part. Also I think the one that was actually taped had a soprano play the part.

Even for using a soprano it was still good.

okay...so technically she's mezzo soprano....and the only reason it bothers me at all is because it occasionally interferes with my ability to sing along :P
